The new brew
The Scotsman - 24th June 2005
Scots real ale enthusiasts have a new top tipple.
Edinburgh Pale Ate (EPA), enjoying only its first public outing, won the coveted People's Choice award at last last month's annual CAMRA Scottish Traditional Beer Festival.
Created by the newly-formed Edinburgh Brewing Company, EPA's first public palatability test saw the amber ale outperform over 160 entrants from nearly 40 top Scottish breweries.
Drinks industry gurus Russell Sharp and Alastair Mowat created EPA in conjunction with the product team at independent brewery Belhaven.
The ale will be available in selected Belhaven pubs in Glasgow shortly.
